Hi Karon,

There is a chance that the lab made an error and ran your 1,25-D  test twice (on two days in a row); that would explain the higher reading the first day. I will use the first day's results as it is most likely the accurate one.
Your 1,25-D is very elevated at 73 pg/ml (the population average is 25-29 pg/ml). It is 4.63 sigma high and based on population studies,  100 % of the population would be expected to have a lower number. Without you being on Benicar the result would be expected to be even higher.

Your 1,25-D is above the maximum of 45pg/ml listed in the Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy (15 Oct 2006 online). At levels above about 42 pg/ml, the 1,25-D (generated by the Th1 inflammation) begins to stimulate bone osteoclasts,  causing bone to be resorbed (dissolved) back into the bloodstream. Not only does this lead to osteoporosis, but also to calcium being deposited into soft tissue of the body, including the lungs, breasts, and the kidneys (where it forms kidney stones). Please see Osteoporosis, osteopenia and Th1 illness.

Your level of elevation suggests inflammation in major organs such as heart, liver and lungs. When should I be concerned about cardiac symptoms?

Your 25-D of 20 ng/ml is high enough to blunt innate immune response and reflects your reported past history of vitamin D supplementation. Because 25-D is immunosuppressive, you need to continue to avoid ALL sources of Vitamin D to get it down to a therapeutic level of 12ng/ml or less. Please see Foods To Avoid and The importance of avoiding vitamin D.

 "The 25-D seems to be the most critical factor as to whether the immune system is able to start working. Any level of 25-D above about 20ng/ml is likely to be acting as an immunosuppressant, with an action very similar to that of corticosteroids." Dr. Trevor Marshall, Ph.D.

Your D-tests, diagnosis and symptoms indicate Th1 inflammation. Please see Symptoms of Hypervitaminosis-D and you may recognize a few more. You will not get well and your health will continue to deteriorate if you don't treat the underlying bacterial cause of Th1 inflammation with the MP. Please see Is the MP an applicable treatment for my disease?

Most supplements and many medications must be avoided on the MP.

Our clinical study is temporarily closed to enrollment. As vacancies occur, we will admit subjects based on an application. To obtain an application forum, please send an email to marshallprotocol2@yahoo.com  with 'request MP application' in the subject line.

best, P.B.

Thank You P.Bear.

Have I been killing any bugs while on the MP?
My main Question is should I wait to take the Mino until the 25D is down to 12 ng ? I also read that the Mino aids the body in not assorbing the bones. Brain fog and a little/lot confused! I am currently on my first dose of 75mg of mino as of 9pm last night. Should I keep my same ramping  schedual? Am I wasting abx time and money?

Thanks for your time P.Bear

Karon,  If you have not yet applied for study participation: To obtain an application forum, please send an email to marshallprotocol2@yahoo.com  with 'request MP application' in the subject line.

We do not manage patients on MP here. You must ask your physician for help until you are accepted into study.

You can read an interview with me if interested at:

best, P.B.

Hello busy moderators, :D

Now I am really confused!!  :? I have not been able to post progress reports as you have instructed me to do. I am waiting per your request. I have already been accepted but can not access the forum to post. Is this the place for me to ask for help with test results???

I did not mean to send anything to DR. T. M. :? I am not that self absorbed :shock:
Only to the moderators (test helpers:P ) Please advise as to correct procedure...I am lost now.. again.:(

Original message is below
We would like to answer your question/s but we are bound to follow our study site Board policy. It states:

-Do not send your questions to Dr. Marshall or Staff by email or private message

Please post your questions in your progress report. Thank you.

Thank You,

Hi gang,
I wonder if someone could help me understand these results while on the MP.
 Draw date = 7/23/08   by  LABCORP in San Luis Obispo
Read Date= 7/23/08
BUN                                          = 18                       MG/DL
CREATININE                            = 0.7                      MG/DL
ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE      = 133  H                 U/L
TRIGLYCERIDES                     = 130                     MG/DL
CRP HIGHLY SENSITIVE         = 7.49 H                 mg/L
 hsCRP level  (mg/L)
<1.0
1.0-3.0
>3.0
My concern is the heart stuff even though I've never had a visable problem. All ekgs have been normal in my past. No breathing or pain problems just a racing now and then but nothing recent.
 The good news is my 25D is down to 14.4 now!!!! :D My hard work is paying off.

Dr. Schechter wants me to stay in PH1 until my D comes down to 12ng. I will be tested again next week. Does this sound like we are doing the MP as written??? Should we wait?
 I have been accepted into the study but still have no access yet. I am being patient. I just want to read read read in the PH2 & 3 forum to be well prepared BEFORE I start the next abx. My rx's have all been filled.
 Thank you for all your time. :dude::D

Karon, Your BUN and Creatinine are within normal limits that would indicate that your kidneys are tolerating immunopatholgy. Your Alk Phos would indicate some liver involvement that is common with herxing. Your elevation in hs CRP is proof of inflammation and that the MP is working on you. There is no need to wait for 25-D to come down to 12 ng/ml before advancing antibiotics in our opinion. You must post your progress at least once a week at: Benicar and Minocycline Forum to start and continue in the study.
best, P.B.

Sorry,

Can you or any moderator re send what I have missed? I cant find any invite or instructions telling me to begin posting in PH1 (Benicar/Mino forum) before today. I can't blame it on brain fog.  I was told to wait and so I did.
So Sorry for the confusion and "inappropriate" reply. I know there are alot of changes going on so maybe I missed something. Please re send. I only wish to comply and not be a pain in the :shock:!
You are way to busy to be bothered by me ;)
Sorry Again,
Karon

Karon, just go to http://www.marshallprotocol.com, find the Benicar and minocycline forum and post a report. Then you will be on your way. :)
