Hi. Just to get back to you and let you know that these are my lab results for the blood work I just took.
Please comment.
Vitamin D, 1,25 Dihydroxy 37.4 Normal is 15.9-55.6
Vitamin D 25 Hydroxy, D2 + D3
25-Hydroxy, Vitamin D 36 Adult normal is 32-100
Please be advised that I had a severe rise in my blood pressure and took Accupril (several doses), then the cardiologist prescribed two doses of Avalide with HCTZ, 7/27, 7/28 and one dose of Benicar with HCTZ 8/1, spaced by several days. Was unable to continue either of these because of inability to urinate. So, discontinued. The lab test was taken 8/26. This if for informational purposes to let you know to see if either of those medicines may have influenced the lab results. My ace level on 7/8....was 16...with normal 0-52.
Thank you for your time.
The test was done by LabCor. The shipment was frozen. Avoiding foods with Vitamin D since middle of August (about three weeks)....also avoiding sunlight for that period of time.
No prednisone taken.
Meds taken: (besides those listed above):
Medications taken now:
Norvasc for blood pressure, lasix 10 mg. twice a week, tylenol (headaches), Phenergan 25mg. 1/4 as needed for nausea, Lorazapan 0.5 mg. 1/2 2-3 times a day, induril 3 mg. (migraine and nervousness, raised Blood Pressure).
Medications taken before on set of raised blood pressure:
coral calcium for years (discontinued three weeks ago), 2T. of ground flax seed for years (discontinued years ago), blue-green algae (fresh water..does not contain vit D or A, does contain Omega 3 in balance proportion.....considered a natural whole food.).
Brief symptoms:
Elevated blood pressure, severe anxiety, occasional shakes (tremors), nausea (not eating), headaches.

Dr. Edelman,
Your 1,25-D is elevated at 37.4 pg/ml (the population average is 25-29 pg/ml). It is 0.88 sigma high and based on population studies, 81.15% of the population would be expected to have a lower number.
We have had a very poor record of Labcorp performance with 1,25-D as they have been very unreliable. They very often give lower results than Quest. We do not recommend using Labcorp for your D metabolites tests. Their results have proven unreliable even when the sample was shipped to them frozen. This may be due to a policy of allowing the frozen sample to thaw in the refrigerator before they run the test. These are expensive tests and you would be taking a chance on their accuracy by using Labcorp. If that is your only option, we can tell if the test is accurate only when the result of the 1,25-D is elevated. If it is low, we cannot know if it's a lab error or a true result.
Your 25-D of 36 ng/ml is high enough to blunt innate immune response.. Because 25-D is immunosuppressive, you need to avoid ALL sources of Vitamin D to get it down to a therapeutic level of 12ng/ml or less. Please see Foods To Avoid and The importance of avoiding vitamin D.
"The 25-D seems to be the most critical factor as to whether the immune system is able to start working. Any level of 25-D above about 20ng/ml is likely to be acting as an immunosuppressant, with an action very similar to that of corticosteroids." Dr. Trevor Marshall, Ph.D.
Labcorp's "normal" range has no connection to any population study and is ridiculous for that reason.
Your D-tests, diagnosis and symptoms indicate Th1 inflammation. Please see Symptoms of Hypervitaminosis-D and you may recognize a few more. You will not get well and your health will continue to deteriorate if you don't treat the underlying bacterial cause of Th1 inflammation with the MP. Please see Is the MP an applicable treatment for my disease?
Most supplements and many medications must be avoided on the MP.
Our clinical study is temporarily closed to enrollment. As vacancies occur, we will admit subjects based on an application. To obtain an application forum, please send an email to marshallprotocol2@yahoo.com with 'request MP application' in the subject line.
Best, P.B.
