Diagnosed with MS in January 2006
Blood drawn January 2006
25D> 17.7 and 1,25 D> 48.7
Used Quest Lab/ Blood Was Frozen
Was taking supplemental vitamins when the blood was drawn
I am in phase 2 of the Marshall Protocol treatment. I take Benicar 40mg 3x a day and 100mg every other day of minocyline and at 1/4 of second antibiotic. I have been doing the treatment for a year and 1/2.
I have not been diligently avoiding vitamin d foods or sunlight. Not wearing NoIrs, but do have some. I wear sunglasses with no UV protection
Recent vitamin d test
25D> <7 and 1,25> 40.2
I do experience immunopathology
I have not done any previous treatment for my disease.
I do not take any other drugs other than MP drugs.

Green Eyes, Your recent blood test reveals Th1 inflammation. Your 1,25-D is elevated at 40.2pg/ml (the population average is 25-29 pg/ml). It is 1.18 sigma high and based on population studies, 88.10% of the population would be expected to have a lower number. Would recommend that you up dose of Benicar to 40mg q4 or Q6 hr dosing and you would have better coverage and your number is apt to come down a bit more. We have found that Q8 dosing is not enough in the great majority, and MS and your current 1,25-D level would be an indication to move up.
Your 1,25-D is nearing the 45pg/ml listed in the Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy (15 Oct 2006 online). At levels above about 42 pg/ml, the 1,25-D (generated by the Th1 inflammation) begins to stimulate bone osteoclasts, causing bone to be resorbed (dissolved) back into the bloodstream. Not only does this lead to osteoporosis, but also to calcium being deposited into soft tissue of the body, including the lungs, breasts, and the kidneys (where it forms kidney stones). Please see Osteoporosis, osteopenia and Th1 illness
Great that your 25-D is less than 7ng/ml. Keep up the good work but still avoid vitamin D foods and sunlight if you want to get better. You generate 1,25-D directly in your skin with sun exposure that will detract from your well-being. MS can kill you in the long run as you may know and following the protocol more faithfully is in your own best interest.
Almost all sunglasses made today protect agains UV. You would do better with NOIRs that also protect against IR and have adequate blocking power.
Your D-tests, diagnosis and symptoms indicate Th1 inflammation. Please see Symptoms of Hypervitaminosis-D and you may recognize a few more. You will not get well and your health will continue to deteriorate if you don't treat the underlying bacterial cause of Th1 inflammation with the MP. Please see Is the MP an applicable treatment for my disease?
Most supplements and many medications must be avoided on the MP.
Are you a member of our MP study under a differnt name? If not,
our clinical study is temporarily closed to enrollment. As vacancies occur, we will admit subjects based on an application. To obtain an application forum, please send an email to marshallprotocol2@yahoo.com with 'request MP application' in the subject line.
best, P.B.
