Hi Elizabeth,

Welcome to the sister site of http://www.marshallprotocol.com.  This is your personal thread - please continue to ask any future questions in here :).

"We encourage folks to postpone elective surgery that is not absolutely necessary as long as possible because the MP healing process may solve the problem.

Th1 inflammation interferes with the healing process (this may account for your previous poor results) and many folks discover they no longer need surgery once the inflammation is resolved.

You dont want to lose a valuable body part unnecessarily. You will not get well and will continue to deteriorate if you don't treat the underlying bacterial cause of Th1 inflammation with the Marshall Protocol.

As a rule, it is always safer to put off non-critical surgery until your body's innate immune system gets strong enough to heal the wounds properly again. The decision to delay is a difficult one, and you need to carefully consult your Doctor on the pros and cons."

I need to have a diagnostic procedure/surgery/dental work. What should I know?

Why do I need to ask for a local anesthetic without epinephrine?

If the need for surgery is urgent (eg. you are in significant pain) you may consider postponing beginning phase 1 - that is just my personal opinion.

Discuss your options with your Doctor.

Take care and best of luck,
Natalie

:? I am not computer savy in the least & am about to cry! I was accepted to the study & received a confirmation from the marshallprotocol.com site asking me about a password etc.. I was told I need to post a report weekly. I tried to register on the site but it says they're full. I'm already registered on the th1 site but it says I can't post. HELP! Dr. Rogers keeps telling me you're waiting for me, but I'm having a hard tme getting started. I have done the required reading for safety & have organized a notebook with printouts for reference. I am even journaling my way through this process. I wish there was a hard copy primer that we could buy to help the tecnologically challenged among us! I really want to participate & help with the study. If you could email me @ beth.stone@att.net I will follow your instructions right away.

Also, I have surgery Sept. 17th to repair my R hip. I had the L done in February. They will give me IV antibiotics during surgery & I think I came home with 5 -7 daus worth of pills. I have to take Arixtra injections for 10 days to prevent bloodclots. I cannot wait to have the surgery & need to have both knees 'scoped when I'm cleared from the hip rehab ( 14 wks ) I started my MP meds 8-22 . Do you have any advice?

Thank you for being there. this will change my life when it's over. In the meanwhile it's a little scary. I appreciate your support.

Elizabeth,

Please don't cry!  I've reported your login problems to Admin.

I need to have a diagnostic procedure/surgery/dental work. What should I know?

Hi. this is Elizabeth in OK. I am still struggling to figure out posting. I have seen the instruction page but have not been able to find the "general discussion" tab - just the "New Topis" tab which tells me I am not allowed to post. Anyway.....

I had written that I was having hip repair surgery the 11th. It went relly well. The doctor was fine with the restrictions I gave him. I felt good after my 10:30 am surgery. I was home by 1pm. I was starving, ate sensibly & visited with my freind, a nurse, who is "babysitting" me for a few days.I awoke this am around 4 to use the restroom & had something to eat & took my meds. Afterward, I felt that ate a bit more that I should have even though it was not a lot.

When I laid down I mentioned to my friend that I would probably be getting back up soon because my I was begining to have an upset stomach. I felt that I would need to have a bowel movement. Sure enough, 15 minutes later I head to bathroom and proceede to become increasingly nauseated. I had awful cramps, loose stools, became cool, clammy & felt faint. The pain in my lower right quadrant increased along with the light headedness until I guess I fainted. My friend was there, I was in the floor & having problems staying concious. My pain was tremendous. My friend called the paramedics who took me to the hospital.

Some morephine & an unpleasant CT to look for appendicitis later I was dismissed with the explainaton that a first post-op BM can be stressful, that I probably had gas pain & that it may have also been pain from the hip I was feeling & just thought it was my abdomen. I've has several other operations, some longer & more complex & have NEVER had any problems afterward.

My question to you is whether skipping my Benicar that night could have anything to do with that episode? I have had mini episodes that involved eating something ( usually greasy ) that resulted in a rush to that restroom after cramps & having loose stools & feeling gross but nothing like last night.

I am alittle worried about not knowing what happened. Has anyone else had episodes that no one could diagnose & then felt better not long after?
If you have any feedback please share. Thanks.

Hi Elizabeth,

If the MP study site is telling you you can't post, you need to log in.  Top right of the page it should say 'Not logged in' followed by the 'Login' button.  Press that and it should give you a box to fill in your username (remember you're 'Elizabeth in OK' on that site, because there's another 'Elizabeth'!) and your password.  Then press Login at the bottom.

Then on the home page of the MP site, go down to 'Progress reports' and click on 'Benicar only forum'.  (If you've started minocycline, go to 'Benicar & minocycline' forum)  At the top right press the green 'new topic' button.

Sorry you had such a rough time after surgery.  General anaesthetic can be very upsetting to the system.  Did you tell your anaesthetist that you were on Benicar?  Were you given any antibiotics for the surgery?

Please keep all your questions together here in this thread by hitting the 'reply' button on any post.  If you lose this thread, click on the 'My Account' button at the top of any page.  It will show you all the threads you have posted in - click on the title 'Elizabeth's questions'.  I'm going to merge this post with your questions thread, so that it will all be under 'Elizabeth's questions' :)

Thanks for the response. I have a few questions. When you say post reports on  the MP site - Is that the marshallprotocol.org site or the th1site? The fact that there is information on 2 sites & all of it is important is a little confusing. Should I stick primarily to one or the other?

I am frustrated that I have spent 10 years with symptoms, finally find out what's really wrong with me &  fact that the answer revolves around the computer ! I would give anything for a hard copy "starter/reference manual" & use the computer to read updates by catagory & to email. I'll get the hang of it eventually, but I wish there was a primer I could carry in my purse or read in bed. There is soooo much to know. I would love to take advantage of every chance I could to get my sea legs. I have 2 kds still at home. One has Spina Bifida & the other type 1 diabetes. I have lots of errand running & waiting in docotr offices.

Regarding my meds - I statred Benicar & mino already. I did tell my surgeon what I was on. I gave him the copy of the instructions about surgery & anesthisia. I didn't go into much detail, just saying that I was in a clinical trial for treatment of an auto immune problem. I have stopped the mino because I'm taking doxycycline to help harden the head of the femur that was repaired. I am taking my Benicar every 6 hours. I feel well except for an slight increase in PVCs that seem mostly positional & activity related.

Elizabeth,

The two sites are:

http://www.MarshallProtocol.com, the study site for those like you who have been accepted into the study.  You post your progress reports there and ask medical questions, all in your own thread.

http://www.CureMyTh1.org (here) where newcomers can ask questions and find out more about the MP.
It's also where you can ask non-medical questions that more experienced members might be able to help with.  We're good at finding information in the MP 'library' (which is on the study site).

So from now on, you'll be posting on the other site, but you're welcome to come back here if you need non-medical help with anything :)
