HI ALL,
I saw a report on HGH on World News Tonight, this evening. I know it is a hormone. Can we assume the people that take it, are feeling the effects of immuno suppression, and anti-inflamtion. Thats why they are feeling better than they have in a long time? Just curious if anyone knows if HGH is the same as Prednison, in that way?

All the steroid hormones weave a delicate balance between each other. If you look at the Brahmachary et al paper I cite about the antimicrobial peptides, you will find that even the progesterone and androgen (testosterone) receptors are responsible expression of a large number of antimicrobial peptides, and therefore modulate the innate immune system.

I haven't specifically tested HGH to see what it affects most, but I did find that all the steroids affect all the Type 1 nuclear receptors, to greater and lesser extents. It is a homeostasis, a balance.

Haven't you even wondered why a disproportionate number of sportsmen end up with Sarcoidosis?

I did Hgh for a year.... the year before I started the MP.  It did not make me feel better.  I actually felt worse at the end of the year.  And my Oncolab A.M.A.S test that looks for HgM antibodies to cancer cells went from a score of 36 (normal) to 186 (cancerous).  However, I realize just now thinking about this that I had ramped vitamin D supplement to 16,000 units during that year of taking HgH.  So, I guess while I have previously thought that the Hgh was responsible for the cancer report, it may have been all of the vitamin D that I took that year, suppressing my innate immune system even more, so that the "killing" of cancer cells was not done per usual.

A good example of not mixing too many products at once.  One then never knows what caused the result(s).

Wishing all wellness!!!:)

Ugh, My sisters boyfriend has been on HGH for about 2 years. He claims it helps his back pain. Unfortunately as iv'e said in the past, they <my family> do not understand MP, although iv'e certainaly tried to explain it to them. I will just keep on going, and maybe my recovery will open their eyes. Thanks for your replies Dr. Marshall, and George as always -Terry
