I dont know where to put this suggestion, so maybe one of the moderators can tell me the best place for it, but if anybody wants some help presenting the MP to their doctor, I've made up a pretty good intro packet using a lot of the documents and articles on the MP site. It costs me about 5 bucks in materials, so send me a PM (private message) if you want one and i'll make it for you and mail it to you and you can just paypal me the 5 bucks whenever. I've used it when meeting with lots of doctors, and I continue to improve it with each new encounter to make it more convincing. The current version has been pretty effective so far, as I now finally have an MP doctor. Hurray! =)

Hurray!!!!!!!!!!!  :D

One BIG ATTA GIRL for you, Gina.

Thank you, Gina, for the suggestion!  :)

That will be a decision for one of the "generals" to make as to where to showcase your suggestion.   I like it very much!   But I am at most, only a notch above a PFC.  :)

Wishing you, and all, wellness!!!  :)

Thanks, George. I'll just leave it up here and hope one of the Moderators can find a place for it.

=)

Gina,

Congratulations on finding an MP doctor!

To save you having to make up this package of documents for everyone that needs it, could you please be so kind as to post a list of the links you've used, and then folks could print out their own?  It sounds as if you've put a lot of thought and effort into this, and it would be really helpful to others.  We could put your list where everyone could refer to it.

It would be difficult to provide a list of links to all the places on the site that i pulled information. A lot of the stuff was copied and pasted from different sections, plus all the downloadable documents, and modified to look better, neater, and easier to read. Plus, I put them in a nice clear plastic 5-section presentation booklet that i get at staples for $3.75 and print the pages on a color laser printer where my mom works just so it looks very official and professional. Doctors like that. If it looks like a bunch of stuff printed off the internet, they are less likely to take it seriously.

What I can do, if you want me to make the packet downloadable for others, is I will upload all the files to my web space and put links to each of them up here on the MP site, and then maybe find a place online where people can buy the binder I use and provide a link for that as well, so they can build it themselves. If they don't want to build it themselves, they can just ask me and I'll make it for them. I don't mind at all. If both options are available, then I doubt I will get swamped with requests.

Okay, here is my entire information packet. I put it all together in this website, for people to download. Feel free to link everyone to this page:

This is the best way I think it can be accomplished.

Hi George,
I don't think we are dealing with just an elephant!  I think the vitamin D lobby is at least as big as one of those long necked dinosaurs. :(

Gene

Gina,
Must your files be zipped?  Too big to just post?  May be a problem for some.
Gene

I found it was easiest to zip them because then they'd be in nice little packets. I'm an organization freak. If people have trouble with the zip files or any other aspects of the downloading, i've included my email on that page. I can always split them up later if enough people request it. =)

Yes the vitamin D controversy is indeed a brontosaurus.

Hi Sue,
I live in Allen, north of Dallas, and have been on the MP 26 months for sarc.  My MP doc in Richardson retired after my first year so I was looking for another doc.  Found one in Dallas who agreed to prescribe the meds only because I had been on the MP for a year and all my blood tests were normal.  I also gave him the form letter to docs indicating I was requesting the treatment.

However, he is not interested in treating any more patients on the MP at this time as I wanted him to do the vitamin D metabolite assays for my wife but he declined on the basis he didn't have the time to learn the MP.  I plan to keep him posted and maybe he will come around later.

Sooo, I can't be of much help recommending a doc.  I am sure you will find the information Gina has put together helpful.  Also, I think it is best to select potential docs that work alone and make their own decisions.  Others who have accountability to other docs in a complex will be much more cautious.

I will attest to Gene's input about the doctors in large medical complexes. I've had NO luck with those people either. They won't even let me talk about the MP. Independent doctors are best.

I found a Doctor of Osteopathy who was very open to learning the MP. Also i find that specialists are very hard sell, and you should try to go with General Family practitioners or Internal Medicine doctors. I'm currently getting my MP prescriptions from a rhematologist, but he is very skeptical and another one of his patients had to convince him to help me. The DO is much more willing to be involved in my care.

Naturopathic doctors are often great candidates for the MP and can do the MP in states where they are licensed to write prescriptions (visit http://www.naturopathic.org for more info on that) But most of them don't take insurance for visits and so doing the MP with a naturopathic doctor is probably going to be very expensive. Also i think a lot of NDs try to alter the MP and infilrate it with "natural supplements" and other modifications so be very careful.

The site is down temporarily because the booklet is undergoing a final proofread. It should be back up in a day or so. Sorry for the delay.
