since the subject is in discussion again I think above post from RM is worth transferring from the Support for Independants thread to this one, just so people can be reminded of proven control measures
I speak as one who visited Hong Kong during the SARS panic and saw first hand how it was handled.
hand washing, drying; and wearing of gloves was essential part of avoidance
which makes the MP lifestyle protective :-))
red is used for my emphasis

Interesting event last week (thurs) which reading this thread brought into my head. I attended a meeting in work where one of the guys got out of his flu bed to attend(how stupid) but anyhow i tried to shield myself as he sat across from me perspiring and coughing. Felt a bit off on sat morn then developed congestion and sore throat and by the afternoon i could feel a heavyness in my chest.
I remembered reading here some where to use salted water or mouth wash and gargle every 2 hours(early intervention), kept clearing my throat and nasal passages and not letting any mucus be ingested and by tuesday i was totally clear. I think with this and the MP i was able to fend it off, as before MP that always would have developed into a bad flu for me, particularly at this time of year.
