Hi, Started my 25mg mino today after being on Benicar for 10 days. If I have no IP how fast can I move on to 50,75,100mg and so on... Also is there a best time to take the mino? OK to take with the Benicar or space it out? I know it should be on an empty stomach. Thanks
BTW: To soon to tell for sure but my IBS seems better on the Benicar! :)

What meds are you taking? Still taking methotrexate?
What is your 25-D level?

If your 25-D level is high enough, it will be suppressing killing of pathogens and thus the IP can be low. You have to work on getting it down. As it comes down, your IP may increase so you have to be careful about increasing antibiotics too quickly.

Medications to Avoid

Hi Madhouse. :)

The easy answer is as fast as your symptoms allow you. But a more specific answer is that two weeks at each level at a minimum has worked well for others.

There is a chart in the following article that you might find interesting...
Length of the Marshall Protocol

Stopped Methotrexate 3mo ago and Prednisone 6mo ago. No other meds now. Sending out 25-D sample Monday so I will stay at 25mg till I get back the results then decide if I need more mino or less D. I think I am doing good with the diet but my sun exposure has been quite high lately. Thanks Rico, makes sense.

Note: I'm sure its in my head but it is now 2 hours after mino and I have increased pain in my joints and muscles.
Felt my normal pain before mino. I cant believe it is IP already. I hope I get IP because I am having a hard time believing in it. Time will tell I guess.

Thanks for the link Joyful, I think I missed that one. Interesting it states 3-18mos for phase one. Wow! that is a very big swing. It sounds like it is very individualized but 2wks min sounds fair enough.

Madhouse, my wife has had IP like that as well. Only 2-3 hours before she felt it. Her worst symptom is pain.

Azithromycin is where you have to be especially careful not to go too fast.  It takes as much as 40 days for the Zith to get out of your system, so you could have extremely bad IP during that long a period if you have been moving up fast, and your D comes down unexpectedly into the therapeutic range.  This is why it is recommended to have your 25D tested around the time you start Phase 2 with Zith so you know what to anticipate.  Or, some people go with modified Phase 2 that does not use Zith, and therefore the backing off of the antibiotics when you are getting too much IP will only mean a few days of discomfort.  Cynthia
