Hi,

I'm about to start the MP just as soon as I can find a doctor, but I'm a little concerned about going off my medicines. I am currently taking Methotrexate, a little bit of Prednisone (2.5 mg), CellCept, and have just had 2 rounds of Rituxan. Talk about poisoning my body!

Do I need to wait a while after going off of them? I've read I need to wait 2 weeks after weaning from Prednisone, but what about all the other ones? I'm concerned I'm going to really feel bad for a long time. Will the Benicar help with the pain? I'm tough, but given that I have so much pain and exhaustion now, I'm not sure how much more I can withstand. Are painkillers allowed?

Thanks,
Maureen

Hi Maureen,

Benicar can actually help with the steroid weaning.  It may make it easier for you to do.  Methotrexate doesn't have to be weaned in the same way (speak to your Dr) and I don't know what the other meds are but once you begin posting, the med staff will be able to assist you.

Methotrexate

You can also take pain meds which may alleviate some of your symptoms while weaning and also during the MP if the Benicar is not enough for you.
