Hi,

MS question:

I have a friend who was diagnosed with MS about 15 yrs ago. He has been in a wheel chair the last 7yrs and is quite debilitated. Do you think there is a chance that the Marshall Protocol could do something for him. ?

I do not know his current condition as his immediate family find it hard to communicate with him let alone anyone else?

Diet Question:

I have been eating an organic buckwheat bread and found it has sunflower oil in it. do you know of any breads I could possibly eat ?

Rice puffs also have sunflower oil, do you know of any substitutes?

For breakfast I have been eating porrige with a 1/2 green apple, but would like some variety. The health brands of corn flakes & rice flakes contain folate.

Do you know of any folate free , oil free cereals I can eat?

Thanks for your help......William:)

William,

I hope someone from your part of the world will be able to help with the food questions.  Here in the UK we've been threatened with folic acid in our flour and bread, so I asked for a breadmaker for my birthday.  A good one is fairly pricy - but it's the best thing since... well, sliced bread :P

I get organic flour and use olive oil, and once you learn to use the thing it takes two minutes to throw the ingredients in, and then you just have to be around in 4 or 5 hours (depending on type of loaf) to take it out when it finishes.  Magic!  We haven't bought 'plastic' shop bread since I got it.  The only trouble is, the bread is so delicious it's very hard to stick to a low-carb diet!!

Your friend with MS would need someone to take responsibility for administering the MP to him.  If communication is a problem it might make things very difficult.  He would also need a supportive doctor.  Perhaps you could introduce the idea of the MP to his immediate family and get them to look at the information on http://www.MarshallProtocol.com?

Thanks julia,

I don't think I will make my own bread, I would prefer to buy something that is non wheat and free of sun flower oil, gluten free etc...

Same with cereal, I would like to find stuff that is folate free?

I'll just keep looking.

Regarding my friend wth MS. Do you think that the Marshall Protocol could help him in any way, or have a positive impact or is MS in the to hard basket for MP?

Thanks for your reply

William:)

I just read a reply from DR Marshall to another member regarding treatment of MS patients.

Does anyone know of any Doctors (in Sydney) who use the Marshall Protocol to treat their MS Patients?

Thanks......William

Hi,

I have read the MP website papers on foods to avoid while doing the Marshall Protocol. They do not mention anything about not eating herbs.

So I take it  that it is fine to eat herbs like, chilli, cumin, corriander, star anise, majoram, oregano, basil.....etc

If someone can please let me know that herbs are OK that would be great.

Thanks.....William...

Hi William,

Herbs are fine if used in moderation as in cooking. Only when they are taken in supplement form, as high doses are they contraindicated.  Cooking with them to season food is not a problem.

Hope this helps,

Jeannine

Hi, I am currently doing the MP (for CFS) in Phase 2 and have a question regarding working in hospitals.

I am going to apply for a part-time admin job at St Vincents hospital Sydney in the pathology area. It is 2 nights per week (9PM-7AM). Every now and then, I see on the news, stories about antibiotic resistant "supergugs" breeding in hospitals.

Do you think working in a hospital would pose a risk for me?

Thanks...William...

William, as your immune system is getting stronger with the MP, you should be able to fight off a few superbugs.  The people who go down with these bugs are usually the elderly, the very young, or the already sick - and so many people have undiagnosed Th1, which means their immune systems are already compromised.

If you're in Admin, presumably you don't need to have contact with patients.  But do take all precautions - use antiseptic gel on your hands when you enter and leave the hospital, wash your hands well when using the bathroom, never share drinks or food... all the usual recommendations half the world ignores, but we can't afford to ;)
