My Dr. would like me to try the Marshall Protocol.  I have to study it and my heart Dr. has to ok it, but--- with avoiding vitamen D - am I still going to be able to work?  I work in an office...also..what if I choose to try it and I can't make it because of work...(which I have to do),...is stopping the protocol as easy as 123?

Thank you!

Josanne

PS - I have Lyme...apx 10 yrs..

It's impossible to know in advance. Some are able to keep working in the early stages of the MP, others are not. Ability to work returns as the protocol progresses, of course.

The question you need to ask yourself is, do you want to do this now, or do you want to wait until you are too sick to work anyway?

It is possible to stop the protocol safely (at least, as safely as possible given that you will still be sick), and your doctor can get guidance on how to do this in the Professionals' forum if you decide that that is what you want to do.

Thanks Josh for your info.  I'm really scared to try this protocol. I'm sick of being sick..but I guess just scared to try..after phase 1..what's next in phase 2 & 3..I wish I could see the whole thing before I commit and what if I go through all of this and in the end it doesn't really work...than what...

Anyone have any words of wisdom for me?

Thanks, Josanne

Perhaps reading some of these will help you to be sure that the MP will work for you: Marshall Protocol Success Stories

There are a number of them from others with Lyme.

Phase 2 & 3 are essentially the same as Phase 1, except you take 2 antibiotics at once in Phase 2, and 3 in Phase 3.

The protocol is designed so that you can adjust the medications in order to keep your immunopathology tolerable at all times. See: How To Manage Immunopathology

Hi Josanne,

Actually I took my first minocycline today after being on Benicar for past two weeks.  So I have no  way of knowing how this is going yet, but I have been sick over 26 years and although I did work for 10 years with CFS/FIbro I reached a point where it was no longer possible.  If only MP was available to me then I would certainly not have progressed to being housebound most of the time and feeling pretty bad every day.  Nothing remarkable has taken place so far.  Just the same old daily symptoms.  If you don't try it you could become worse over time as I did.  As you see some people continue working on MP.  I guess you need to ask yourself how much longer you would be able to continue working in your condition.   MP is an opportunity to possibly reverse your problem.  There are no guarantees in any treatments we do but I know for sure I would just become worse if I did not take action.:D

Sheila
