my question is, Do I have to be on the negative side of vit.d in order to start mino? I have been on benicar for 6 months and can't seem to get neg. vit.d levels.I am living as much without sunlight as I can. I feel I am ready for mino,but am unsure if I can because both vit.d levels are still agout 15-20 points above neg. level thanx

Hi Xenaspower,

Welcome :).

Many people, I'd say close to half, start mino while their 25-D reading is still above 20ng/ml and certainly above the therapeutic level of 12ng/ml.

Suggest seeing;
Do I need to get my 25-D down before I start the MP?

You say you are living without sunlight, you don't mention diet.  I assume you knwo that you have to avoid all vit D in foods as well?

See FOODS TO AVOID

Also, incase it's applicable -
Why do I have to stop my alternative treatment and avoid most supplements?

Also of interest;
When should I start minocycline?

Of course talk to your Doctor before altering your diet, and let he or she know when you start minocycline.

Let us know if you have any further questions.
Natalie
