I have been having noticeable problems since I had pneumonia in Jan. 2008. Finally went to Dr and asked if it could be Fibromyalgia. Long story short, rheumatologist said I have FM. Continued to have major problems not controlled with Lyrica. Boss recommended another Dr. Doc #2 asks lots of questions, listens to history and tells me with his experience, he is almost 100% sure it is Lyme disease. I have had a Vit. D test, Lyme test and then today 2 more tests for Lipids and ACE. Doc #2 will have me follow Marshall Protocol if I have Lyme. I do not know results of recent tests, but have copies of blood work from hospital stay in Aug 2008. It shows WBC up, Lymphocyte % low and Neutrophil Absolute High. I don't see Dr. #2 until Nov 18. I just know I want to quit hurting and have energy again and feel like ME.
Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? This is my first post, so I apologize if I have made any boo-boos or posted incorrectly.
Thanks
Okietree

Okietree, This forum is for evaluation of D panels. You might want to cut and paste this post to the correct place on site for others to give you feedback.
best, P.B.

Hi Oakitree,
Fibromyalgia is a term that describes a series of symptoms....Lyme disease is a bacterial infection...most people who have Lyme disease experience fibromyalgia.
It sounds to me like you have a good doctor in #2. I would suggest you read up on the Marshall Protocol study site so you have a thorough understanding of what the MP is. Read all the required reading.
Another great place for information is http://www.bactereality.com.
Then you will be ready and well-informed when you go to see the doctor.

Thanks for that info. I hadn't thought about it that way.
I've been reading just about everything I can find on the Marshal Protocol. I am scared though, because it sounds like just about all food is off limit. I never realized how many things have Vitamin D in it. I hope that once I start the MP, I can discontinue the Lyrica.
Have you been through the MP? I am just wondering how long it will take and will I be able to work through it. I have read about feeling worse before you feel better. I can't get to the website from here at work, so will have to try it from home.
Thanks agian so VERY much for your help.

Katie

First of all, my diet is quite comprehensive....the main things to stay away from are fortified foods, eggs, fish and mushrooms. I read labels carefully and have found non fortified milk, rice and pasta. I am not very strict about avoiding fat...for instance salami, or bacon and cheese in moderation and I have managed to keep my D levels at less than 4.
It's actually quite a healthy diet with lots of fresh veggies and fruit.
Also, I found my taste changes as I go along...probably due to the antibiotics, and there are foods that I simply don't want.
The length of time you will be on the MP is anyone's guess. It really depends on how sick you are, how long you have been sick, and what your particular microbial soup consists of.
I've been doing MP for 3 yrs now, feel much better much of the time, but know I will be at this for another few years before I am totally well.
I had been very ill with Lyme for 18 years and now realize I had been infested with CWD bacteria probably all of my life.
If you've only been ill since January...it would seem to me this should be a factor.
It is not an easy protocol and one must be very committed to wanting to get well in order to stick with it.
http://www.bacteriality is a great source of information that is easier to assimilate than the information on the study site....which is amazing in its entirety but can be daunting.Last edited on Sat Nov 15th, 2008 04:12 by Aunt Diana
