I don't know where to start or if I'm posting in the right area.  If not, I apologize.  I'm so distraught that I can barely think straight.  My brother, aged 27, was diagnosed over a year ago with saroidosis of the lungs.  He was on Bactrim (sp?) and Prednisone (15 mg recently increased to 20 mg) and then place on Methotrexate (9 pills per dose).  His last checkup on November 4th showed his breathing at 21%.  The doctor said there was nothing more he could do and that a lung transplant is necessary.  Life expectancy after the transplant is 5 years.  When I asked him about Marshall's Protocol he scoffed and said they don't recognize it in the medical profession and wouldn't even discuss it.  I don't need arrogancy at this point.  I just want help.  I posted on another forum and they weren't sure that MP could help my brother because they stated he sounded like he was at such a late stage.   I pray to God this is not true.  My problem now is finding a doctor who will initiate the treatment.  I've read about the phases and weaning off the Prednisone.  Forgive me because my thoughts are in disarray so it may sound like I'm jumping from here to there.  My main question:  Is it too late for my brother?  Only two weeks prior to this exam his breathing was at 24%.  I have to believe there's hope.

Any help will be so greatly appreciated.

Hi Purplecat,

Welcome - I am so sorry to hear about your brother's situation.  You are posting in the right place and I'm so glad to see you've made a request for a Doctor's list.

There is no way of saying if it's too late for your brother, but you are on the right track with looking for a supportive Doctor and doing some reading.  Once you find a Doctor s/he will be able to give you a better idea of if the MP will still help your brother.  If anyone else here has the expertise to add more, they will.

I'm glad to see you have done some reading.

I suggest reading the following links, if you haven't already;

SARCOIDOSIS
Overview, treatment, diagnosis, symptoms, remission, PFTs, staging system, ACE, etiology, standard treatments

Simple Explanations for explanations that apply to all Th1 diseases, including sarcoidosis.

Also see Marshall Protocol Success Stories Members' testimonies of their improving health.

Especially;

Carole Morgan (Sarcoidosis, FM, CFS)

Belinda Fenter (Sarcoidosis)

Julia Grier (Sarcoidosis, OCD)

(there are plenty of success stories related to sarc if you have a look).

I'm assuming in your reading you have come across the basics.  See - Essential Info

Let us know if you have any more questions, give our best to your brother and good luck finding a supportive Doctor,
Natalie

Thank you Natalie.  Yes, I've read the success stories and have bookmarked them for reading when I get discouraged.  I've read so much over the last few days.  However, I need to read it again because reading under stress has probably caused me to miss some stuff.

I won't give up.  I have the doctor list and have emailed one doc but am going to call the other docs today.  What irritates me is that if it were his (the pulmonologist) family member I'm sure he'd do everything (including Marshall Protocol) to save them.

Again, thanks for your response.  :)

I found a doctor willing to treat my brother using MP only if I can find a pulmonologist to work with him (because my brother is in such a late stage).  Please pray I can find a pulmonologist to work with him.  Thank so much.  This site is a godsend.
