Hi group, so glad to be invited in. my name is cheryl, and i have a son with autism and chronic lyme disease. we have been battling for almost 4 years with on and off antiobics.  he has difficulty swallowing food at times and screams with rage attacks with things get really bad.  i wonder if he is getting seizures, but his behaviors get better typically with immediate IV rocephin.  my doctor wants me to try the marshall protocol due to alex's vit D 125 levels being high.  i am nervous on the fact he is 8 years old and cannot tell me if his pressue is low.  any advice on how i can get threw this? i truly trust my doctors recommendation.  i am at a lost wondering after reading  the post by dr robyn russell and her son's behaviors sounds like me son. he will not go to bed at night sometimes due to not wanting to be flat. he will fall asleep sitting up.  he will drop out of nowhere and scream violently hitting his head and pinching. we have also used rifampin with good success for this..  any advice would help. thanks so much for inviting me in.. cheryl from long island

Cheryl,
I think I might have spoken with your Doc, late last week :)
The advocates here will be able to help you understand how our knowledge of the science of the metagenomic microbiota which causes these diseases has enabled us to produce a therapy which has worked well in at least the 500 members who have gone through the study cohort. Only a few of them are kids, but the path to recovery of the children has been consistent with that of the adults, a little faster to respond, if anything.

(for those that haven't seen it, Matt's recovery is documented at http://bacteriality.com/2007/10/28/interview6/ )

Anyway, I am sure somebody will come along to help you here :)

dr marshall, thanks so much for the response.  i am sure you did speak with my doctor this week.. my little boy is very sick and he is an amazing doctor with such kindness.  i have stopped all antibiotics before starting the benicar.  will this help with the herxes??  we need to control inflammation before we go back in and treat with antibiotics.  i hope benicar can calm down his inflammation making it easier to treat him.  should i expect a possible flare up anyway with starting benicar even without antibiotics currently in place??  i was also doing minocyline everyother day 25mg,with crushing it and putting it in water. i did read a post on this group that it is not good to put minocyline in water is this true??  he does not swallow so i could crush it and put in into food??  thanks again for your help cheryl

The answer to crushing the pills is already in the "Autism" thread at the MarshallProtocol.com study site. It is going to take a couple more days before you will be able to get access to that thread, please be patient.

ps: please read here Jason's progress
