I had a  gene mutation test done for methylation and one of the genes tested was the vatamin D receptor gene.

My results for that gene were:

VDR Taq +/-

VDR Fok +/+

Would this have any effect on my ability to recover from CFS, beast cancer.....etc.  I have had cfs for 22 pluss years breast cancer dx 2004.

I also just had the brca gene test done and was positive for a mutation in the brca1 gene.  My mother and her mother both passed away in their early 40's from bc.  I consequently had a complete hyterectomy 2 weeks ago.

I have just started the Marshall protocol and feel that this is the answer for the return of my health and after me my two brothers.

Thank you,

Lynn

Thank you,

Lynn

Lynn,
Several members of the MP cohort are BRCA1 positive. The gene mutations arise because of the actions of the Th1 pathogens, which affect both a cell's DNA translation machinery as well as its DNA repair machinery.

It is interesting that you are Fok positive, but it means nothing to your prognosis. Focus on getting rid of the microbiota and you will find the Fok polymorphism will eventually disappear.

I will talk more about this in my Kenote at the upcoming 'Gene 2008' conference in China.

Dr. Marshall,

Is it possible that after getting rid of the l-form bacteria that the brca gene mutation could be fixed in a human or is that something that is inherited and can't be changed?

Thank you once again.

Lynn

Yes, it is possible. The microbiota causes the mutation in the first place. DNA repair should fix it, once the intracellular bacteria are killed off.
