If you have not seen this, you may want to. http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2008/10/27/f-strauss-vitamind.html?ref=rss&loomia_si=t0:a16:g4:r5:c0:b0
I just posted a comment on the article. They have a voting system for comments and you don't have to register to vote, so everyone, how about a vote for my comments and those of other MP supporters. CynthiaSchnitz

Excellent comment you left at the CBC site, Cynthia.
You may be interested in the info left in the thread on the MP board:

In fact, it is important for everybody from the 'CureMy' site to keep an eye on the posts in my 'Perspectives' thread

| Yes, Dr. Marshall, that is where I picked up on the article. But I am not allowed to post there, and I also suspect that many of the people checking in here have not been keeping up with that part of MarshallProtocol.com forum, so happy to have mentioned it here. Cynthia

Oh my goodness - I had forgotten you couldn't post there. I will try to work out a way to fix that. I had been thinking that everybody could post in that forum. Oh well - thanks for reminding me, I iwll not only look into it, I will keep a closer watch at this site

| I registered an account at CBC a few hours ago, but I have yet to receive the confirmation email. I was going to point out that comparing the MP's effectiveness against that of a placebo is unnecessary, because you might as well go straight to comparing against the conventional treatments, since the data needed to do so is already available and it's a much more relevant comparison. (Not to mention the ethical problems with withholding treatment from seriously ill people.) Last edited on Fri Nov 7th, 2008 07:45 by JoshR

I like it! My email came back about 15 minutes later. I wonder if they use real people to OK your application, and therefore depends on time of day, etc. Cynthia

Good suggestion Josh. I wonder if we could compare MP results with the sarc study ACCESS?
btw, I see two of my posts have been loaded this AM.

OK, those of you with low blood pressure, listen up. Go read the latest comments by 'Calgary Guy'. This will surely raise your blood pressure. It did mine by at least 10 mm Hg. So, OK, I have shot back with a longish comment (2 parts) and another still in the cue at the moment of this posting.
Dear me. Got so carried away with my comment/post that I missed my late morning Beni, 3 hours past the 8 max. Well, I don't think it is too critical, since I am getting almost nothing in the way of herxes yet. Mostly non-painful background stuff like tinnitus and seborrhea, so I am sure I will live.

Cynthia,
Calgary Guy is an agent provocateur.
Best to ignore him IMO. Especially while he posts such lengthy missives...

| Actually, I am glad to have the opportunity to say what I did. Felt very good, but I will probably post no more in response to him, as you really can't verbally battle with such people. But if his future posts stimulate some additional desire to say something, I certainly will. But notice that I did not respond to him directly, and never will. Cynthia

Stephen Strauss does not respond to reason or discussion.
I pointed out to Stephen that one of our members, Evelin Lindner MD PhD PhD, who teaches at a number of Universities, and who was awarded the 2006 Swiss Award for Applied Psychology, should be competent to discern the placebo effect from reality.
Stephen replied that just because somebody has two PhDs, one in medicine and one in Psychology, it doesn't mean they are competent to not be fooled by the placebo affect.
And I suppose he is competent???

She is a very interesting person. Very much like my father in law before he passed away, who also had an interest in Psychology. Everything that was important in his life centered around human interactions. Me, I'm just a nerd who values human progress in the physical world and have little need for social interactions. It was very hard communicating with someone so different.
I generally couldn't care less what Strauss, Embree, and Calgary guy think, tho I appreciate the fact that Strauss held out on the bandwagon jumping that others are doing (but then, if he jumped on the bandwagon, he would not have material for his column), but I AM concern what naive and TH1 infected people think when reading the article and comments. If just one person gets the idea that it might really be worth looking into the MP, I am very happy with my time spent posting the comments.
