I have been diagnosed with lyme, I am unaware of when I got it. I am thinking it was when i was about 10 or 11 because I had a tick on the back of my head that had to be pryed off. I noticed anxiety and other smaller synptoms starting around 8th grade but never thought anything of it. I am currently 17 and brain fog and neurological problems kicked in about 7-8 months ago.

I have not started any antibiotics yet so I was wondering if I should go straight to MS or try the antibiotics first?

Hi trueg,

I'm sorry to hear of your health problems.  Lyme is one of the many diseases that folks are using the Marshall Protocol for, because it reactivates your sick immune system, helping it to kill the bacteria causing your disease.

This topic Lyme disease (click) has all you ever wanted to know about Lyme, and far more... just when you think you've reached the end you find there's a second page as well!

A short blast of antibiotics may help you feel better for a while, but then you may find you relapse.  I think it's better to restore the function of your immune system and let it do the job it's meant to do.

What does your doctor think?  Has s/he heard of the Marshall Protocol?

One sure way of finding out if the MP will help you is to get your D-metabolites tests done.

A question I have is, on the CD 57 test, a low count means that I have chronic lyme right?

Yes, but see Prof. Marshall's view:

I wouldn't trust the CD-57 test further than I could throw it, as I don't agree that the science underlying this test is sound.

One of the Pubmed articles describing this test is here: http://tinyurl.com/o9faj
and here is another: http://tinyurl.com/myp6n

I would be happy to talk with your LLMD [Lyme doctor] and explain why I think a test based on such limited immunological knowledge, and such a tiny cohort of patients will ill-defined disease presentation, is hardly suitable to be used as a basis for clinical decision making.

Most folks with Lyme have more than one species of bacteria.  The D-metabolites tests show whether you have the kind of chronic disease that will respond to the MP.

Is it absolutely necessary to wait for the results of this test before the antibiotics/noir glasses are ordered through my doctor?

And no, my families insurance plan cannot afford a LLMD so I am going to have to go through a regular physician. In other words, he knows very little about lyme and I will have to provide him with a lot of information on the MP.

BTW thanks for all your help so far Julia

No, you don't have to wait - if doc is satisfied that the MP is the way to go - most docs like test results!  But do get the tests done before you start MP medications.

Before you begin the MP

How do I go about even mentioning this protocol to my doctor? I'm not sure he has ever treated anyone with Lyme.

Do I just print off all the recommended material and hand it to him and try to explan it?

Thanks everyone

Has anyone had any good results with Morgellons and the MP?

One of the MP moderators, Jeannine R.N., had Morgellons before starting the MP, and it went away soon enough. Other members of the study cohort also had Morgellons. It is just another Th1 syndrome which goes away as your immune system recovers by killing the metagenomic microbiota.

Thats great to hear. I also have Morgellons, which is what led me to see that I have lyme as a co infection.

Currently I have just been taking sea salt and vitamin C, but I am going to my physician wednesday to try to convince my doctor to try the MP. I'll let you guys know how that goes.

As you are legally a minor, we should say also that you ought to consult your parents or legal guardians before taking any action based on what you've read here :)
