I'm pre-MP and have been reading about the protocol for several days. I've got CFS and am taking Armour thyroid and Cortef. My question is, if the Cortef will make the metabolite test too high, should I try to get a doc to do a therapeutic probe before taking the test? Frankly I'm scared to wean off Cortef because without it I can hardly move and get bad anxiety and other symptoms.

My other question is about the doctor list. Is there any way to get recommendations, or should I just call the office and ask how familiar they are with MP?

Thanks for your help. It's great to find a site with so much to dig into, even if brain fog is making it really hard!

Hi Nell,

You can go ahead with the D tests, and mention the cortef (doses, how long) when posting your results for analysis in the forum Help with Understanding D-metabolite tests.

Weaning off cortef should be easier with the help of Benicar at the full MP dose of 40mg every 6-8hrs.  See Weaning from Steroids.

I think calling the doctors' offices sounds a good plan.

Thanks for the help. Another couple of questions: Is there a place where data on poor results is kept? Of course I love reading all the positive stuff but I'd also like to read the possible negatives well, people who had a bad reaction to MP, or weren't helped.

And have a lot of people come here after trying Brown's Arthritis Protocol and not seeing a good enough response?

Because of the way the MP information is spread over the internet, we have no control over those who don't keep posting their progress.  There are many on the MP who don't post at all, and many who post for a while and then stop.

When we contact lapsed members, it's clear that many found the immunopathology hard to tolerate, and decided to stop.  Others stopped because they were feeling so much better.  Some are still happily on the MP but not posting.

Yes, we have some members who have tried the Roadback protocol, and have found it helpful, but unable to take them to remission.  They go on to do well on the MP.  John McDonald is one.
