Hi everyone,
I have been sick since 2005 with numerous symptoms. It is a long story so I'm going to start with the short version. I am fairly convinced I have cronic Lyme disease; along with the EBV. I live in Wisconsin, during the summer of 2005 I vacationed to a heavily wooded area where I had exposure with ticks. I picked off over 30 to 40 ticks from me over a 4 day weekend. Upon returning from my trip, I awoke the next morning to shower for work. While in the shower I removed an embeded tick from my buttox. Within 24hrs I came down with flu like symptoms that lasted for several weeks. In the last three years I have seen 5 different doctors, have had buckets of blood drawn, x-rays, CT scans, MRI, scoped from every opening possible, and many more procedures I can not even pronounce. So far the only thing that has shown positive on the blood work is high levels of EBV. After nearly two years I finally found a lyme literate doctor that diagnosed me with chronic Lyme. I have spent a year on antibiotics with noticable results, however I feel I am at a crossroads in my treatment and do not know if I should continue the ABX treatment. I do not know anything about the MP treatments, so I have a lot to learn. I'm not sure if I'm in the right place; but I would appreciate any opinions. My current symptom list is as follows
extreme fatigue, nausea, joint pain, twitching, vertigo, brain fog, headachs, extreme IBS, heart palps, chest pain, abdominal pain, itching... whole body including eyes, groin, rectum. ECT.

Hi Seronegative,
You have come to the right place, welcome . Sorry to hear of your ill health.
First of all I want to give you the good news - there is a blood test you can do to see if you have Th1 infllamatory disease, which Lyme falls under, and which the Marshall Protocol treats.
These blood tests are called D-metabolites tests (click).
Your Doctor can also do a therapeutic probe to help determine if the Marshall Protocol is the right treatment for you. See;
What is a therapeutic probe?
Is the Marshall Protocol an Applicable Treatment for my Disease?
Now for some starting-from-scratch reading on the Marshall Protocol;
What is the Marshall Protocol?
The Marshall Protocol -- simple explanations
What is the basic definition of Th1 inflammation?
How does Th1 inflammation develop? What is successive infection?
Phase 1 Document.pdf - is the first step you discuss with your Doctor.
You will need to find a supportive Doctor for the Marshall Protocol. You can talk to a current Doctor about getting on board with you (ask us if you'd like some help with that) or you can make a request for a Doctor's List in your area here -
REQUEST FOR DOCTORS LIST (click here)
Also, some information specific to your situation;
Borrelia (Lyme).

Will the Marshall protocol treat co-infections?
I also recommend you frequently read Amy Proal's http://www.Bacteriality.com site. A good place to start is her recent presentation in vimeo (movie) format. Here is Amy's description and the link:
"In the following video, I explain the science that forms the backbone of the Marshall Protocol in simple terms. I discuss the bacteria implicated in causing chronic inflammatory disease, and explain how these pathogens affect the immune system. I also describe the basics of the treatment itself, providing information that any patient who plans to start the Marshall Protocol, or any doctor planning to put a patient on the MP, should understand. My narration is accompanied by slides with pictures and images of the pathogens and molecules I discuss. The video is 89 minutes."

It is a lot of reading and a lot to absorb, take your time, and let us know if you have any further questions or need any further help.
Take good care,
Natalie

Hello Seronegative,
Your post couldn't have come at a better time for me. I am in a similar situation and have similar questions. After years of being sick and every test known to man, I have finally found a Lyme literate doctor. I'm still waiting for test results, although he told me he has no doubt that I have chronic Lymes or some other tick infection. I had Lymes 25 years ago and I have struggled with it ever since. I then became extremely ill again two years ago.
My problem is that the Lymes literate doctor is familiar with the MP, but said he just doesn't get the whole vitamin D thing, although he said he wouldn't tell me not to follow the MP. He wants to use his own protocol if I am willing.
I have a doctor that uses the MP and is willing to treat me with it. After talking to the Lymes Literate doctor I was unsure which treatment plan to follow. I have decided to use the MP and let my Lymes literate doctor follow my progress.
The thought of taking large doses of antibiotics for a long term seems harmful to me, but I am not an expert so I have questions about which is best. The idea that Benicar will act to protect my organs as the bacteria die off and will also enable my immune system to function properly is much more appealing to me.
Good luck,
Lind
