Please forgive me if this question has already been asked and answered, and give me a link to the answer. I don't follow the message boards as closely as I would like.
Recently, a prominent CFS physician/researcher has been telling his patients that high doses of Vitamin D have been shown to be more effective at preventing the flu than the flu vaccine. Of course, Dr. Marshall would say that Vitamin D is merely immunosuppressive, but I find it hard to accept that the D would suppress the body's response to the virus while allowing the virus itself to run rampant, which would clearly be quickly fatal. Therefore, I am eager to read Dr. Marshall's explanation of this finding. If he is not already familiar with it, I can probably dig up a journal citation.

Tim,
The purpose of this board is to help those who are interested in pursuing the Marshall Protocol with their own doctor. We really don't have the time to argue each point, but can certainly give you some further information to consider.
Your question about the flu and the immune system is good. However, read the following article, and you'll see how the body and viruses interact in ways that aren't obvious.

Here's some reading for you regadring Vit D, the immune system, and how the MP works. I hope it answers your questions.

Knochen,
Thanks for your reply. Rather than wading through gobs of general information about the MP, I was hoping that Dr. Marshall had specifically addressed this specific finding, which I suppose is rather recent. Has he done so, either here or at marshallprotocol.com? If he hasn't, would he care to?

Tim,
Please note what Knochen said at the top of his post -
We really don't have the time to argue each point, but can certainly give you some further information to consider.
If we don't have the time, Dr. Marshall certainly does not have the time, so no, this particular research has not been specifically discussed. We know what we know and reading the links Knochen provided above will teach you what we know thanks to Dr. Marshall's research.
Whether you accept it or not is entirely up to you.
Please let us know if you'd like to learn more about the Marshall Protocol, but note that no matter what part you want to learn about, it does involve a lot of reading.
Best,
Natalie
