Hello everyone,

I found your message board today and am pretty excited about the new information avalable.

I was diagnosed with Sarcoid in 97 via a biopsy. During the first few years, my conditions was extremely bad, many times I was on heavy amounts of Pred.

Eventually the symptoms subsided and I thought it was all behind me, but in Aug it's back and even worse.

I live in Ontario, Canada. How do I begin the MP treatment? Do I have to go somewhere to do it? Can I do it here at home? My next appointment with my respirologist is Nov 10, what should I tell him when I see him?

Sorry for jammering on, but I am very excited there is something out there that might work for me, and I want to understand clearly what it is I need to do to get myself started on this treatment.

Thanks ~-)))

AJ

Hi AJ,

It is exciting, and we're glad you found us!

You do the Marshall Protocol through your own doctor, see Suggestions To Get Your Doctor On Board With the MP.  If s/he isn't interested, post at REQUEST FOR DOCTORS LIST

We don't give medical advice as we aren't qualified, but there is friendly guidance here from experienced members, and we can help you find the information you need in the vast MP 'library' on our main site MarshallProtocol.com.

I hope you're ready for a lot of reading (if you haven't already found it)...

"What is the Marshall Protocol?"

Simple Explanations

Sarcoidosis Facts

D-metabolites tests

Success Stories

Bacteriality - a readable blog-style website by one of our members, with science-made-easy articles, an introductory 90-minute video, and interviews with recovering patients - an excellent introduction to the MP.

Please ask any further questions here at your own personal thread :)

Julia

Thank you my dear, I appreciate the quick reply.

Now I'm going to bunker down and read, read, and read :)

In Aug I had a flare-up, my ankles and legs (moreso the left leg) swelled up with fluid so much, I thought they were going to explode.

With my great luck and all, my family doctor was on vacation for 3 weeks, and my respirologist had since retired. I didn't fall through a crack, it was more like falling through an open man-hole cover.

So I hauled myslef into emerg and waited the obligatory 8 hours, where I explained to the attending physican that I 'believed' this was sarcoid related, and how in the past, pred would help the symptoms go away.

He started me on a 3 week does of pred, and all the swelling went away within the first 7 days. Funny though, 2 days after I finished my script, it all came back, and now it's worse. Of course it's a long week-end here, and my 'emergency' appointment with the new respirologist isnt until Nov 10 (today is Oct 13)

It's so frustrating being sick, as I'm sure everyone here knows all too well. When I found your website (by accident) I was very excited about reading about MP, the thought that there's some hope for me is very encouraging. I'm only 42, and I'm so sick of being sick.

You know it's funny, I've often wondered if my sarcoidosis, thyroid problem, and Gluten allergy are related? It seems the more I read, the more all these 'immune' disorders are intertwined.

Ok, I've blabbered on long enough with my venting...I'm going to elevate my legs and start reading.

Thanks!

AJ

Julia,

Suppose money was no object,

Is there a clinic / doctor anywhere in the world who can administer this treatment first-hand? Someone who has been speicialising in this treatment (MP) and looking after patients personally?

Thanks

AJ
