Approximately how long doyou have to be on the protocol to see changes/improvements in ct scans?  Do you monitor progress simply by the D-metabolite levels? Or are there other objective measures of improvement.

I just met with the pulmonologist for the first time and of course got alot of resistance to looking into this...."never heard of it at American Thoracic Society meetings"...wants to use prednisone, fosamax,etc...:(

Hi Connierae,

Please see What tests do I need to monitor my progress on the MP? - the last section especially, on CT scans and their risks.

What is the best way to assess lung function?

Most of us have found our own GPs to be more open to new ideas than a pulmonologist or other specialist.  Suggestions To Get Your Doctor On Board With the MP
