I've been reading up on the MP and after reading the advice to have a backup supply of Benicar and the emergency room sheet - one question came to mind... Is it safe to stop taking Benicar after starting the MP? Can one stop 'cold turkey' without side effects?
Thanks,
jcm

| In a word, no. Your immune system will keep killing bacteria for some time, and without the protective effects of Benicar there will be tissue damage.

There are no "side effects" they are all primary effects.
Once Benicar turns on your innate immune system, that immune system will keep killing the microbes, for days ar a week after you stop taking the benicar. But the organ-protective and pain-palliation actions of Benicar disappear very quickly indeed. So you are left with continued immunopathology, without the protection.
How to take a break from the Marshall Protocol?

Thanks for the reply.
I know I am getting ahead of myself (still learning about the MP) but I assume that there is a protocol for stopping the MP... a safe way to stop?

The only truly safe way is to keep going until you've killed all the bacteria and immunopathology ceases. If you need to take a break from IP mid-protocol, you stop the antibiotics but continue the Benicar.
I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to stop because of immunopathology. If the MP didn't work, IP wouldn't be a problem. Last edited on Mon Sep 29th, 2008 04:55 by JoshR
