Why is the lifestyles website limited to MP cohort members? I would love to participate in their forum also.

or have one of our own, we could pick up quotes from the old hands and respond here, swop recipes, cloak jokes, info on lighting fixes : I was given a lovely tip on avoiding fluoros in the bathroom by using candlelight
Anyone for a candle lit supper

I agree. One for independents. But, it would be nice to participate with the others. There is so much to learn from each other!

Lifestyles is for members of the study to share non-progress report details and that includes those who are in later phases and questions about that too.
Experience has shown that many who are new to the MP have a difficult time understanding immunopathology or easily get side tracked with more than nutrition basics when it comes to food (our popular culture leads us to believe we can achieve miracles with food). So it is a safety measure to keep the issues on the lifestyles forum closed to those who have little or no experience or understanding of the MP.
Time appropriate action is an issue too. Those who are beginning to learn about the MP have much to read and learn from the existing study site library so they can adequately handle important discussions with their physicians. Extracurricular dialogs may distract them from the real task of learning what they need to know at the beginning of the MP, or devoting time to preparation rather than socializing.
A good place to spend some time is the Phase One Alumni Forum, too. Much to learn about all phases of the MP there.
Best to all--Janet
