Hi Glenn,
Welcome to the sister site of http://www.marshallprotocol.com. This is your personal thread - please ask any future questions in here .
If your anti-depressant is not on the list of -

... it should be ok.
Also the following may be of interest -
It is important to wean slowly from antidepressants
(as you progress through the MP).
To discuss with your Doctor.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
All the best,

| Hi Glenn. I don't know if there are places in WA that stock NoIRs, but you can order them from Compoundia over the phone and they'll express post them to you.

Hey,
I am just started the MP today. Dr has me on on just 40mg of benicar a day just to see if it effects my blood pressure in any way. This will be increased after 2 weeks.
Is this ok?
Cheers
Glenn

Glenn,
You may like to go over information in -
BENICAR-Basic Information (click here)
inlcuding
Benicar dosage and schedules and
My blood pressure is already low. Can I take Benicar?
Please check all precautions / instructions in the Phase 1 Document.pdf
with your Doctor.
Of course do not make any changes to your medication without your Doctor's instruction.
Regards,
Natalie

Hello Glenn,
You should never ramp up the Benicar. You may experience hormonal fluctuations that can be alarming. Please see:
http://www.marshallprotocol.com/forum32/1782.html
Of course you need to talk to your Physician but it is important that you make sure that your Doctor does not stray from the protocol. You have to be an advocate for yourself.
Best to you.

| So if my doc wants to increase the dosage of benicar 40mg every 2 weeks untill we reach the recommneded dose is this ok? I have been on the 40mg of benicar every 24hrs and 25mg of antibiotic every 48hrs and I am feeling really dizzy and a bit nuts. Is this normal. How should me and my doc increasse so we get the full blockade(4omg every 6hrs)? My next appointment is next wednesday. Last edited on Wed Aug 27th, 2008 08:10 by Glenn K

Glenn,
Are you reading the links you are given and discussing them with your doctor? I ask because you are asking the same question again:
Dr has me on on just 40mg of benicar a day just to see if it effects my blood pressure in any way. This will be increased after 2 weeks.
Is this ok?
Natalie gave you the link Benicar dosage and schedules which makes it clear that you should not ramp Benicar.
She also pointed you to the Phase 1 Document.pdf which says:
...we cannot endorse the use of this guideline unless Benicar is prescribed at the recommended dosages.
Saj said to you even more emphatically:
You should never ramp up the Benicar
and gave you a link to Why shouldn't we ramp up the dose of Benicar?
Then you asked again:
So if my doc wants to increase the dosage of benicar 40mg every 2 weeks untill we reach the recommneded dose is this ok?
The answer is still the same: No, it is not ok.
I have been on the 40mg of benicar every 24hrs and 25mg of antibiotic every 48hrs and I am feeling really dizzy and a bit nuts. Is this normal.
The Phase 1 guideline says:
It usually takes a week or two to stabilize symptoms on the Benicar blockade alone. This means that any additional symptoms have waned or resolved, and the patient feels able to tolerate an increase in symptoms from the expected Immunopathology with pulsed Minocycline. About 50% of patients experience immediate symptomatic relief from Benicar alone, about 25% take a few weeks to stabilize, and the remaining 25% may have to wait a month or more until their hormones rebalance.
So you should not start minocycline until you've been a while on the full MP dose of Benicar. What you are doing at present is not the MP, and it isn't surprising that you're feeling 'a bit nuts'.
How should me and my doc increasse so we get the full blockade(4omg every 6hrs)?
Please for your safety discuss with doc the phase 1 guideline, and start the MP as written, by stopping mino for the present and immediately starting the full dose of Benicar.
Good health, safely!
Julia

Cheers for that julia.
Yes I have read the Phase 1 docs. Was just a bit confused. But it is much clear now. Will "start" the MP correctly as soon as I discus with doctor. Have stop Minocycline.
Thanks for that
Cheers
Glenn

Hi guys,
I have been on the MP as directed in the phase one guidlines for almost 2 weeks.
I am taking omletec every 8 hours. Have stayed right out of the sun, avoided vit d and am wearing my NOIR's. I have become very tired. Just before I went on phase I had developed a sore stomach including diarrhea and nausea. Now it has turned into very bad constipation and nausea. I went and saw my doc and got some coloxyl with senna. This has seemed to help with constipation.
I can put up with the fatigue and have read that constipation along with nausea is apart of the immunopathology discussed in the phase one guidlines. Could these be a side effect of olmetec also? Or is this just immunopathology as suggested and will it pass?
Thank you
Cheers
Glenn

Glenn,
Please keep all your questions together in your own thread for continuity.
I just started Benicar. Why do I feel worse? What should I do?
>Have stayed right out of the sun
For most, avoiding all daylight is necessary, especially at first while your body adjusts to the hormone-regulating effect of Benicar. This means no daylight in your house, as well as covering up well and wearing NoIRs when you have to go out.
Why does exposure to natural light increase symptoms?
You are on the bare minimum dose of Benicar. You should find things more tolerable if you increase to every 6hrs (with doc's permission).
Constipation
What to do when IP is too strong
